Growing up I always enjoyed drawing and not just drawing on a normal sheet of paper I always enjoyed drawing on large sheets paper. Drawing sport stadiums, monster trucks and crazy houses anything I could think of I was drawing it. Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago I was always fascinated by the city skyline and all the buildings every time I would go downtown. Going to see some of Frank Lloyd Wright houses in Oak Park when I was in middle school made me really consider architecture as my career because it was incredible seeing his drawings come to life and it inspired me to want the same thing. As I got older my passion for architecture had only grown stronger. Researching building history, starting to learn how to draw with composition and having natural skills in math I knew architecture was a perfect fit for me. Working in the field now is amazing being able to use my skills to help build the community around me.
I have enjoyed working on residential projects specifically new houses and house renovations. But working on historic preservation projects are always inspiring to me because it’s incredible taking an old building and watching it slowly come back to life over time.
I played a lot of sports growing up and I have always enjoyed the concept of being a part of a team. In architecture it’s the same idea being able to collaborate with one another and helping our clients’ visions become reality.
