We're proud to share that Abacus Architects has been named a 2026 Culture Excellence Award winner, in partnership with TopWorkplaces.com and Bucketlist. It's a recognition that comes straight from our own team, and that makes it one of the honors we're most grateful for.

What the Culture Excellence Award Recognizes

The Culture Excellence Awards are given by TopWorkplaces.com, in partnership with Bucketlist, to organizations whose employees report a workplace built on trust, growth, and genuine appreciation. Unlike most industry awards, this one isn't scored by outside judges or based on revenue or size. It's built entirely from confidential employee survey responses, meaning the people who show up every day are the ones who decided we earned it.

For a firm our size, that distinction matters. It tells us the culture we've tried to build on purpose, not by accident, is actually landing with the people living in it.

A Culture We've Built On Purpose

Abacus has grown a lot in a short time. A little over a year ago, our team was around 20 people. Today, we're more than 40, and that kind of growth tests a culture fast. New hires, new projects, new pressure, all at once. We've been intentional about protecting what matters through that growth: how we hire, how we treat each other, and how we define success.

Relational Architecture, our approach to client work, starts with listening and translating each client's vision, lifestyle, and priorities into something real. That same instinct shapes how we work internally. We look for teammates who put the project and the people around them first, not their own ego. It's part of why we screen for that in every new hire, and part of why nearly all of our clients keep coming back. That kind of trust doesn't happen without a team that trusts each other first.

Nearly 25 years in, we're still a small, nimble firm by design. We think that's an advantage. It means the people doing the work also get a say in how the work gets done, and a culture that's easier to protect because everyone actually knows each other.
