Martin Stennis Jr.

Architectural Technician

About Martin

Martin’s path into the field of architecture began in high school through the design track at Bradley Tech. The school offered multiple trade pathways to expose students to different careers, and Martin chose design without fully knowing what architecture entailed at the time. As he learned to draft houses by hand using a T-square and triangles and later transitioned to digital tools like Revit and SketchUp, he began to develop a deep appreciation for the profession and ultimately fell in love with it.

Outside of work, Martin enjoys staying active through roller skating (JB and Snap), coed stunting, and mountain biking. When he prefers a more relaxed pace, he spends his leisure time reading nonfiction books and peer-reviewed articles, exploring subjects he is passionate about, including history, urban planning, anthropology, and sociology.

On his favorite project

"As of now, it is currently the University Club Tower project. It is the only project that I'm on that I can point out to friends and family because the building is in Milwaukee, whereas a lot of my other projects are outside the city."

On relational architecture

"Relational Architecture means exceeding the clients' expectations, by not only providing exceptional design services but also demonstrating the client is important outside of the project. This could mean sending them their favorite holiday treat that they've mentioned when the season comes around or congratulating them through a small letter or card for an achievement or milestone. It's about bringing more humanity to the business relationship."
