About Sam

Since elementary school, Sam knew he wanted to pursue a career in architecture. He’s always had a passion for drawing and creating, and after designing his first dream house, the idea of becoming an architect stuck. Raised in Sheboygan, he attended Sheboygan Christian School and went on to study Architecture at UW-Milwaukee. His career at Abacus began as an intern in 2023, and he’s now excited to be a full-time member of the team, continuing to collaborate with such a great group of people.

On his favorite project

"Though not yet completed, my favorite project that I have been a part of is a central hub building for a dementia village, featuring spaces like a cafe, grocery store, and salon. It’s been very cool to see how research informs the design to create a meaningful and supportive place for residents."

On relational architecture

"To me, relational architecture means making an effort to form relationships with our clients, that go deeper than just business, so that we can truly understand their goals and values, allowing us to serve them with more purpose."
