Oostburg Elementary School

OVERVIEW

Oostburg School District is located along the Lake Michigan shoreline in Oostburg, WI. The district’s enrollment for K-12 is roughly 950 students. The school district uses a campus-style design for (2) existing facilities–one for the elementary school and another for the middle through high school.

After an unsuccessful referendum to pass a new high school, Abacus Architects, Inc. was hired to guide the district toward a more acceptable referendum for public approval. After several months of meeting with the community advisory committee, staff and administration, a revised plan was developed utilizing the existing facilities versus building new.

The elementary addition included four new classrooms and support area. The remodel included updated early childhood classrooms, special-education classrooms, administrative offices, and mechanical improvements.
